Location and directions
Quantum Latino 2026 will take place over three days in Medellín and its metropolitan area.
The event will be held at the EIA University, Las Palmas campus, located in the municipality of Envigado, Antioquia, Km 2+200 via to José María Córdova Airport
The headquarters is located on the Las Palmas corridor, one of the main connecting roads between Medellín, the eastern region of Antioquia and the José María Córdova International Airport.
Transportation from hotels
For days 1 and 2 of the event , EIA University will provide transportation routes for participants.
The meeting points will be:
Hotel Lomas 10
Calle 11B No. 31A-172, El Poblado, Medellín.
Rulay Hotel Boutique Art
Cra. 43B #15-12, El Poblado, Medellín.
Spaces for these routes are limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend arriving early at the meeting point to facilitate boarding.
Schedules and details for each route will be communicated prior to the start of the event.
Other options for getting to EIA University
Those who do not use the routes provided by the university, may travel on their own to the Las Palmas venue.
If you arrive at José María Córdova International Airport
The airport is located in Rionegro and has direct connections to Medellín and the Las Palmas area. Available transportation options include taxis and public transport. The airport reports that there are routes to Medellín via Las Palmas and the Eastern Tunnel, in addition to authorized taxi services.
For those arriving by plane, a practical option is to request transportation directly to:
EIA University, Las Palmas campus, Km 2+200 via to José María Córdova Airport, Envigado
Authorized taxi stand
An authorized white taxi service operates at the airport, with drivers identified by airport identification cards. The service to Medellín runs 24 hours a day.
It is important to use the authorized service within the airport and verify the vehicle and driver identification.
Buses and minibuses
The airport also offers public transportation to Medellín. Buses depart from the first floor, near gate 2, and operate 24 hours a day.
The routes currently reported by the airport include:
- Palmas – Sandiego, passing through the Eastern Tunnel.
- Alto de Palmas, passing through Mall Indiana and arriving at Sandiego.
- Medellín – Bogotá Highway, passing through the North Terminal and arriving at the center of Medellín.
For those traveling directly to EIA University, the routes through Palmas or Alto de Palmas are particularly relevant because they use the Las Palmas corridor. However, it’s important to confirm the exact drop-off point with the driver and complete the final leg to the university.
There is also transport from the airport to the South Terminal, passing through Santa Elena, and another alternative that goes down to Medellín through the Eastern Tunnel.
APP platforms transportation
You can also check the availability of transportation services through apps like Uber, Cabify, or other platforms enabled in Medellín.
In this case, we recommend checking directly in the application the authorized pick-up point indicated for the airport and verifying that the vehicle and driver correspond to the information shown on the platform.
Important : Passenger pick-up conditions and authorized locations may change. For your safety, always follow the instructions of the airport and the platform you are using.
From the airport to a hotel in Medellín
If you’re staying in Medellín first, you can take the bus routes to Palmas – Sandiego, Alto de Palmas, or the route to the city center via the Medellín–Bogotá Highway. From your hotel, you can then continue on to EIA University.
If you arrive at Olaya Herrera Airport
Olaya Herrera Airport is located within Medellín, in the Guayabal sector, on Carrera 65, near El Poblado and the South Terminal. It serves only regional and domestic flights.
One of its main advantages for participants arriving from other cities in Colombia is its location within the city and its connection to the public transport system.
From the airport you can take a taxi or request transportation through a platform available in Medellín.
To reach EIA University, the route must continue towards the Las Palmas sector, so it is recommended to enter directly as your destination:
EIA University – Las Palmas Campus.
Olaya Herrera Airport is connected to the Metro network via the Poblado Station area. The Poblado Station is located at Carrera 49 #9-69 and is near Olaya Herrera Airport and the South Terminal.
An alternative is to use the Metro to get around within Medellín and then connect with an integrated route to Las Palmas.
Line A connects the north and south of the Aburrá Valley and passes through stations such as Niquía, San Antonio, Alpujarra, Exposiciones, Industriales, Poblado, Aguacatala, Envigado and Itagüí.
What integrated routes can be used to get to Las Palmas?
Currently, the system registers several integrated routes related to the Las Palmas sector.
- From Poblado Station the route is registered as: 134ii – Calle 10, Transversal Superior, CES, Marianito, Las Palmas, Colegiatura.
- From Estación Industriales it is registered: 136i – Chuscalito (Las Palmas), Palms Avenue, Avenida El Poblado, Carrera 43F, Industriales.
- From Envigado Station, the integrated route appears: Palmas – Alto de Las Palmas.
This allows you to use the Metro as part of the journey, but it’s important to note that the Metro doesn’t go directly to EIA University. The final leg must be completed using an integrated route, taxi, platform, or transportation provided by the event.
Integrated routes may be subject to modifications due to construction or operational changes, so we recommend checking the route on the official Metro channels before traveling.
You can find more information about mobility on the Medellín Metro and payment options for the system at the following link: https://www.metrodemedellin.gov.co/
If you arrive via the land transport terminals
Medellín has two main terminals for those arriving by bus from other cities in Colombia.
North Terminal
Terminal del Norte Medellin is located north of Medellin, on the Autopista Norte. From this terminal you can continue to the center of Medellin by Metro, taxi or public transport.
José María Córdova Airport also informs that there are transportation counters from the North Terminal to Rionegro and the airport.
South Terminal
Terminal del Sur is located in the southwest of Medellín, on Carrera 65.
Its location is especially convenient for those arriving from some cities in the south of the country and also allows connection with different transport options to El Poblado and Las Palmas.
José María Córdova Airport also points out that from the South Terminal there are services to Rionegro and the airport, with alternatives via the Eastern Tunnel or Santa Elena.
Public transport buses to Las Palmas
In addition to the integrated Metro routes, there are public transport services that connect different sectors of Medellín and Envigado with Las Palmas and Alto de Las Palmas.
The routes currently integrated by the Metro include:
| Connection point | Route | Related tour |
| Town Station | 134ii | 10th Street – Superior Cross Street – CES – Marianito – Las Palmas – College |
| Industrial Stations | 136i | Chuscalito (Las Palmas) – Palms Avenue – El Poblado Avenue – Industriales |
| Envigado Station | Palmas – Alto de Las Palmas | Connection to the Las Palmas sector |
To get specifically to EIA University, we recommend checking before your trip which of these routes allows you to make the most convenient journey and where to get off, since the university is located on the road to José María Córdova Airport and not in the central urban area of Las Palmas.
From Medellín
EIA University is located outside of downtown Medellín, on the Las Palmas road. If you are traveling from another part of the city, you can use a taxi or ride-hailing app and select EIA University, Las Palmas campus, as your destination .
If you are using private transport, we recommend checking the route before setting out and considering traffic conditions and travel times.
The routes integrated into the metro system that are available for the sector are:
If you are arriving from another city in Colombia
Medellín has two main land transportation terminals: Terminal del Norte and Terminal del Sur . From either terminal, you can continue your journey to EIA University by using taxi stands, ride-hailing apps, or connecting with other transportation services in the city.
For those arriving directly from the airport or from another city, we recommend checking the location of the accommodation and the route to EIA University in advance.
Before traveling
Check the location of your accommodation in advance, identify the airport or terminal you will arrive at, and review the route to EIA University. If you will be using the routes provided by the event, verify the meeting point beforehand and arrive early, as spaces are limited.
Public transportation routes, schedules, and conditions may change. For your travel plans, always check the official channels of José María Córdova Airport, Olaya Herrera Airport, Medellín Metro, and the Medellín Mobility Secretariat for up-to-date information .
General recommendations
If you are coming from another city or country, please note:
● Check the location of your accommodation in advance.
● If you plan to use the EIA University routes, please arrive at the meeting point early. Once all available spots are filled, no new routes will be offered, and you will have to arrange your own transportation.
● Remember that places on the routes are limited and are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
● If you are going to travel on your own, check the route before you leave.
● Allow extra time for travel, especially during peak traffic hours. Keep in mind that Medellín is a city with heavy traffic congestion.
● Save the EIA University address on your phone to make your arrival easier.
● If you plan to use these routes, keep in mind that the meeting points are in El Poblado. Therefore, when choosing accommodation, it may be convenient to consider hotels near these points or with easy access to them.
● We also recommend not relying exclusively on the event route : if the spaces are full, it will be necessary to use one of the public transport alternatives, taxi or platform available in the city.
● Before traveling to Medellín, we recommend consulting the official channels of the city and the department to verify updated information on transportation, routes, airports, terminals and tourist activities:
